At this moment paganism in Czech Republic has no legal recognition. The constitution guarantees religious freedom, but nothing much besides that. Czech law allows a registration of a religious organization and already a few attempts of doing so were made, but alas they failed to meet all the legal requirements. Current situation motivated us to give it another go and to base it on ideals rather than individuals.
Our goal is to build a legal body recognized by the state; an organization which will enable people to set up their own pagan organization with all the rights and responsibilities. These rights and responsibilities will be subjected to the religious organizations laws and not only to the civil code. It will allow us, among other things, to create and maintain a pagan burial site or to conduct legally binding weddings in accordance with pagan traditions.
At the moment we are working on gathering legal documents and collecting hundreds of signatures required by the Ministry of Culture of Czech Republic, which is responsible for registrations of churches and religious organizations.
